Grid-Draining Electron Guzzlers And The

In perfect Democratic Party form, the Biden administration has dropped another government burden on the private sector. Two days ago, the White House rolled out “the toughest-ever” automobile emissions standards. The objective, of course, is to force Americans to buy the cars that the ruling class wants them to drive. There’s a big problem here, though – the grid won’t be up to the task of keeping tens of millions of electric vehicles charged. The headline from a Bloomberg story last week summed up the plan: “Biden Set to Crack Down on Auto Emissions to Accelerate EV Sales.” Rules decreed by the Environmental Protection Agency are

Put the EPA on the short list of government agencies to scrap after we scrap Biden. They have done nothing good or smart since shrinking the tanks on your toilets. We already have enough amusing stories of EVs being caught too far from home with dead batteries or being totally ruined after being caught in the rain or snow. Until the electric grid is trippled in capacity and safety, there will be millions of such incidents, assuming that Americans are stupid enough to buy these things en masse. FJB and the Cow he rode in on.

This is a PERFECT case to be taken to the SCOTUS, who has clearly signaled that bureaucratic agencies have only limited power to make rules impacting the economy and people. The responsibility for these types of actions belongs with the ELECTED legislature. I doubt such a radical assault on individual freedoms of purchasing products and person choice concerning transportation will stand up very long. PLUS each such decision against the power of the autocracy undermines out extremely dangerous bureaucracy.

An added advantage for this administration is that it woulld be impossible for thousands of citizens to converge on D.C. if they all required charging stations at once. The right to petition the government for the redress of grievances (demonstrations) would be strictly limited. Charging stations could be disabled in specific areas. No more Jan. 6es. Not addressed in the move toward EVs is how to cope with hurricane or blizzard evacuations. Could a carbecue or dead battery kill thousands? On another topic: Google labeled this article as harmful disinformation before I could read it. Does Google track those who ignore their warnings?

From the article: "There’s a big problem here, though – the grid won’t be up to the task of keeping tens of millions of electric vehicles charged". The democrats don't care about the grid, this is all about control over what we do and how, when and where we travel. If the grid isn't up to the task, and the left already knows it won't be, there's even more control over us. I can see it now, driving curfews, alternate day EV charging and the possibilities go on and on. One thing for certain, the political elites will still have access to gasoline powered vehicles, they wouldn't allow themselves to be inconvenienced in the same way the peasants are.

There are 188 million (IC powered) vehicles on US roads. If every vehicle becomes electric, the power grid will require TWENTY EIGHT times the current capacity. Where is this power going to come from - moonbeams & rainbows?? Kalifornia intends to buy it from 'other' states'. What do the other 49 do? There are no (realistic) plans currently in place. The frightening reality is that these people don't intend to replace all 188 million with EVs.. Most of us will be thrown under the bus of public transportation. Only the elite Leftist few (what in the old Soviet Union was called the Nomenclatura) will be in private cars.

The ultimate goal of Biden's handlers is to drastically reduce private automobile ownership. That's why they don't care that EV's are impractical an unaffordable for most Americans, or that tens of thousands of auto workers will lose their jobs in the resulting auto industry bloodbath.

I am sickened by the government continuing to subsidize the automotive industry. Prior to the pandemic they supported GM (government borders) giving GM 2 billion dollars. GM refused to repay the 2 billion. Now they are making EVs at a rapid pace that no one wants and they subsidize GM with tax refund of up to $5,000. The government is actually running the automotive companies, with the exception of Ford. The government is taking tax dollars and using them to subsidize companies, resolving college student debt. financing car charging stations. and 80 billion dollars in descreationaire spending awarded to the president.

The "elites" are very unhappy that ordinary, even lower class folks can purchase a vehicle which will take them in at least moderate comfort (for the lower classes) 400-500 miles on a tank of fuel at 70 mph on free highways. Ordinary people can decide to drive 1000 miles away, and be there in a day, for a reasonable cost, and WITHOUT any permissions, inspections, searches or approvals of the rich folks. This sort of freedom has literally been entirely unknown, totally impossible for ALL of human existence until the late 20th century. And the rich folks don't want all us peasants just moving around with "who knows what" in our cars so freely. They want CONTROL, and that means no cheap, reliable, long range gas cars.

It’s not entirely coincidental that just weeks after President Joe Biden announced his latest plan to cancel student loan debt, antisemitic protests broke out on elite college campuses across the country. Biden’s bailout schemes only embolden these entitled brats. Students at some 18 colleges have staged anti-Israel “encampment” protests. At Columbia University (where a four-year degree will set you back north of $350,000), the protests got so out of hand and so virulently antisemitic that a rabbi at Columbia urged Jewish students to “return home as soon as possible” and the university moved to mostly hybrid classes. Maybe insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. But insanity is also whatever the California Legislature is doing at any given time. The most recent example? A reparations bill that would establish the California American Freedmen Affairs Agency has sailed through the Senate Judiciary Committee. Senate Bill 1403, one of at least 14 reparations bills introduced in the Legislature, cleared the committee by a 8-1 vote two weeks ago, confirming one more time that lawmakers have descended into madness. Unless they regain their wits, reparations will break the state. But a return to reason is unlikely.

Democrats have already made it clear that they will stop at nothing – nothing – to prevent Donald Trump from winning in November. So, we aren’t surprised to read reports that President Joe Biden might declare a “climate emergency” this year in hopes that it gooses his reelection odds. Never mind that such a declaration would put the U.S. right on the path to a Venezuela-style future. Late last week, Bloomberg reported that “White House officials are weighing whether to declare a national climate emergency several months out from the 2024 election.” Bloomberg goes on to report that: White House advisers

In recent weeks, the Biden administration has distanced itself and U.S. policy from Israel’s response to attacks from Hamas and Iran, two of Israel’s bitterest enemies. Americans show sharp political divisions in their support of Joe Biden’s policy shift toward the U.S.’ long-time Mideast ally. Hardly a day goes by without more news from the Mideast, much of it related to Israel’s retaliation following Hamas’ shocking Oct. 7 invasion, resulting in at least 1,200 dead and 240 kidnapped and held as hostages in Gaza and elsewhere. This month, after Israeli missiles killed the Iranian general who masterminded the raid, Iran launched a massive missile and drone strike against Israel.

It seems we’ve reached “peak EV,” with sales in trouble and assembly line workers losing their jobs. The hard truth is electric vehicle sales would have never reached the level they have if the government had not trespassed into private matters. The EV troubles are all around. Sales are slowing. Unsold cars have piled up in lots. Surveys plainly indicate that fewer Americans want them. In response to dramatically slowing sales, Ford announced last fall that it was delaying $12 billion in EV investments. Which should surprise no one, considering that the company lost nearly $73,000 on each EV it sold in the second quarter of 2023.

Just after Ronald Reagan won the presidential election in November 1980, economic adviser David Stockman wrote a memo warning the president-elect that he faced an “economic Dunkirk” thanks to the disastrous economy he was inheriting. Among Stockman’s warnings was that the Carter administration had set a “ticking regulatory time bomb” that would blow up the economy. “They have spent the past four years ‘tooling up’ for implementation through a mind-boggling outpouring of rulemakings, interpretative guidelines, and major litigation – all heavily biased toward maximization of regulatory scope and burden,” Stockman wrote.

After spending decades peddling the fiction that the rich don’t pay their fair share of taxes, Democrats have convinced 60% of adults that it’s true, according to the latest I&I/TIPP poll. That includes half of Republicans and nearly two-thirds of independents. But just because most people believe something doesn’t make it true. And in this case, it is wildly and demonstrably false. As our I&I/TIPP poll report today shows, the richest 1% of Americans now pay 45% of all federal income taxes collected, “the highest levels of taxes as a share of the total in history.” The bottom 75% of income earners, in stark contrast,

We recently received a Biden-Harris campaign fundraising email, and if this is the best pitch they can make, then Joe Biden deserves to lose, bigly. It’s full of lies. It’s completely disconnected from reality. Biden takes no responsibility for the nation’s current troubles, and offers absolutely no solutions. The email begins “I know this message is long.” Except it’s not – it’s less than 430 words, which isn’t much for an email that promises to remind readers “of all the things we have been able to accomplish because of our victory in 2020.” The next sentence is a flat-out lie.
