If the reported facts are true, the lady was so drunk she had no sense of urgency about driving into a lake until her car started filling with water. Almost three times the legal limit but she got behind a wheel? Sad, for sure, but, at least she didn't take anyone with her like so many impaired drivers do.

Like I said it was a drinking game. See how much alcohol a person can consume posthumously to make it look like an accident...

The quick acceleration of e-cars such as the Tesla she drove into the lake reduced the time she had to react and brake before the car went into the water. She apparently hit reverse instead of forward. Alcohol does not help one's reaction time.

I’m not giving my email to read this BUT there was a report last week that said she made a phone call while the car was sinking. I’m skeptical she was so drunk she couldn’t drive but sober enough to find her phone and make a call.

The Sacramento City Council voted unanimously Tuesday night to declare the California capital a “sanctuary city for transgender people.” The resolution, which takes effect immediately, ensures that no city resources will be used to criminalize trans people seeking transition-related care or to cooperate with jurisdictions seeking to enforce laws that criminalize the care elsewhere. It comes as conservative lawmakers across the country have enacted laws to limit both surgical and nonsurgical forms of gender-affirming care for minors — including puberty blockers and hormone replacement therapy — within the last handful of years.

Last month, conservative news host Jesse Kelly told Megyn Kelly on her podcast that “the mentally ill single woman is the beating heart of the Democrat Party.” (snip) For all the talk of female empowerment, progressive women are actually fragile and quite afraid of being labeled as unkind or lacking in empathy, so they rarely question the narrative they’ve been fed. The result is the hypocrisy the left is so well known for — a caring and compassionate veneer with a heart full of judgment and anger. Indeed, hell hath no fury like a single liberal woman.

The United States' top intelligence agency wants to ban its spies from using "biased language," including the terms "radical Islamists" and "jihadist," saying these words "are hurtful to Muslim-Americans and detrimentally impact our efforts as they bolster extremist rhetoric," according to a language guide published internally. The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), which is responsible for handling the country's spy apparatus, seeks to ban a range of common terms because it says they offend Muslims and foment racism against employees. In addition to terms describing Islamic terrorists, ODNI instructs employees to avoid phrases such as "blacklisted," "cakewalk," "brown bag," "grandfathered," and "sanity check."

Teens in the tri-state area are getting fake ADHD diagnoses in order to win extra time on the SATs and ACTs. High school juniors enrolled at expensive prep schools have been taken to doctors and phycologists by their parents in order to obtain documentation that says their child has ADHD, depression or anxiety. Ivy League colleges have decided to reintroduce entrance exams, which were previously made optional during the Covid pandemic. An expert told the New York Post that students who have obtained official diagnoses have gotten as much as 50 percent more time on the tests, which can translate into a 200-point increase on their overall score.

The Biden White House criticized Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro on Tuesday for barring the leading opposition candidate from his country’s upcoming elections — after Democrats tried to do the same to Donald Trump. Maria Corina Machado, 56, won the opposition primary in Venezuela last year and has been favored in the polls to beat Maduro in the July elections, possibly putting an end to the authoritarian rule of Hugo Chávez’s successor. But the Maduro regime blocked the Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD) opposition coalition from registering its candidate by midnight early Tuesday.

Claim: Comedian Jon Stewart said this week that the loans at the center of the civil real-estate case against Donald Trump meant there were fewer loans available to other borrowers. “Money isn’t infinite. A loan that goes to the liar doesn’t go to someone who’s giving a more honest evaluation. So the system becomes incentivized for corruption,” Stewart said. Verdict: False. The amount of money available for loans from banks is not diminished when banks make loans to other customers, except in the rare case of a distressed bank that is capital-constrained. A loan to one customer does not subtract from a fixed pool of loans

Now, a new report has revealed the effort to finish off the gas-powered car is well-underway in eight states. As The Daily Mail reported Tuesday, the rules being adopted in these states specify that only zero-emission vehicles, which include electric vehicles and certain plug-in hybrids, can be sold beginning with the 2035 model year. This is known as the Advanced Clean Cars II rule.
