The government’s chief human resources agency issued a new rule on Thursday making it harder to fire thousands of federal employees, hoping to head off former President Donald Trump’s promises to radically remake the workforce along ideological lines if he wins back the White House in November.
The Office of Personnel Management regulations will bar career civil servants from being reclassified as political appointees or as other at-will workers, who are more easily dismissed from their jobs.

An agency "issued a rule". And when Trump sits back down in the Oval Office, "an agency" can make more rules. Whatever.
But ultimately, _Congress_ makes the laws and if signed _into law_ by a President, then an "agency" will have to work within the law and those powers reserved for the Executive (president). The notion that an "agency" can independently and solely govern itself is patently unconstitutional.

Because, as everyone knows,
"the government’s chief human resources agency" makes laws, not Congress.
It seems, that any law, rule, or regulation can be overturned by any Democrat executive order.
Republicans are expected to just twiddle their thumbs...

Who elected these "rule-makers"? I don't recall voting for any of them, do you?

Rule making is not law. Rules made in the executive branch are subject to the existing law as well as the commands of the president. Send all their arses packing and start over.

Slash their budgets, layoffs will be legal and a certainty. None of these deep state bureaucrats are guaranteed jobs unless of course they'd work for free.

A "rule" is NOT a law. A new rule can be issued just as quickly.
Trump needs to clean out the bureaucracy, like eliminate 10% per year, every year.

Baloney. SCOTUS told joey he canNOT pay down student debt because it is unconstitutional and joey did it anyway. 3 times. When Trump gets in he will tell them he will do what joey did with student debt---do it anyway.
I hope Trump LITERALLY locks the doors of the FBI, CIA, DOJ and Dept of Ed. Then tell them they can reapply and put Vivek in charge. If you give them notice they will destroy evidence. I want to see what nancy paid Ray Epps and all of HER texts and emails and all of the other dems who tried to DESTROY DEMOCRACY.
Throw all of the J6 cmte in PRISON for hiding, destroying and losing EVIDENCE. And charge them in a red state with a REAL, not bought and paid for bully. Judge them for TREASON and throw away the key.

The civil service protections do not apply to a RIF (reduction in force) which is not discriminatory. So... Trump wants to cut the government emplyees in half. Easy a RIF for everyone with an ODD SSN. No contest.

They passed this rule to protect people being paid with taxpayer money and not earning that pay.

What Trump should do is declare a budget emergency and start furoughing workers until further notice. Start with the most egregious agencies like EPA, Dept of Ed, and the Stasi. If they're locked out of work they can't do anymore damage to the nation.

A RIF would certainly be indicated, given we are broke. Say 90% of all bureaucrats and 90% of all departments. They transfer the remainder to Antarctica.

Eliminate the entire agency. No funds, no agency. Move other agencies out of DC and reduce their budgets by 50%. They can learn to code or hump dirt from renewed pipeline projects.

What Trump needs to do on the very first day is have US Marshals march into the offices of EVERY 'appointed' head of anything and then have them march the occupant out in his/her underwear, no cell phones, data sticks, laptops or paper of any kind and NO security badges.

I nominate Vivek to be the Reduction Czar. Reduce every dept by at least 10% per year for 4 years. Move certain depts to other parts of the country- like the midwest. Create comprehensive objectives for each dept etc. If employees do not meet the objectives and/or lack accountability.....out the door. Remove workplace perks and travel perks.

If joey can do this with a pen, Trump can undo it the same way. It is easy to get rid of Civil Service Slugs, DELETE their JOB SLOT, then make it so they cannot apply for other jobs. I hope Trump does this to ALL of the Deep State Slugs that Obama infested into our government. THEN charge the ones that did bad things with Treason or other serious crimes, then DELETE their Pension. Oh Yea, they will be really mad, but so what, What goes around Comes BACK....In SPADES!

The Legacy Media is the enemy, and have been for a long time. They're just more naked about their pro-evil bias now. Put their news divisions out of business. They've failed in their duty to inform us honestly. Bye bye. Figuratively spesaking, you cut your own throats. The Associated Press is not to be trusted. As I said before, they're the enemy. May they disappear.
The only good AP was Arnold Palmer.
